My name is Michael Durall. I am a Muncie resident and devoted and caring husband and father of 3 children. I also have a history of public service as a firefighter for 17 plus years, and I am affiliated with the IAFF union. I am committed to representing and being a voice for the people of Delaware County. I will do this while ensuring funds are spent in a productive, creative, and responsible manner, facilitating growth that benefits all residents of the county. |
Where is District 4?
District 4 includes the northern and northeast areas of Delaware County, along with parts of Muncie just north of Ball State University. District 4 includes Eaton, Albany, Selma, Desoto, and the Royerton area.

What is the county council responsible for?
The Delaware County Council is responsible for:
- Approving and fixing annual operating budgets
- Establishing County taxes, including property tax levies
- Appropriating funds for departments making specific purchases needing authorization
- Establishing compensation and salaries for all county employees
- Borrowing and loaning money
Why I'm Running
I believe Delaware County is full of untapped potential. Methods exist to create an environment of growth and success for everyone, rather than one based on fear, cuts in programs, and restrictions. Other Indiana counties are working to build bright futures, and we can, too.
I also believe this must be achieved through bi-partisan efforts. I'm ready to work with everyone.
We can make Delaware County a better place to live and raise our families without having to reinvent the wheel. We can learn from other communities to avoid repeating the same growing pains they might have gone through. Through this process, we can use data and information that is freely available to be as efficient and productive for long-term community gains.
Relying on a common statement: "We have to understand the past to best predict the future."
