Responsible BudgetingThe County Council has a duty to be a steward of the public funds. This requires Council members to ensure funds are spent in ways that line up with long-term growth plans and strategies. This is more important now than ever with the advent of State laws making community funding scarce.

Public SafetyPublic safety fosters public well-being. This includes not just the Sheriff's Department, but local EMS services, and in the very near future, funding for fire protective services as well, per 2025's Senate Enrolled Act 1. The goal is to equip the men and women providing these services with the training and supplies that ensure continued quality services in a fast and effective manner when they are needed the most.

Creative Funding and Support of Community GrowthThe Council needs to find creative means to support both population and business growth in the county. This can be done through incentivizing programs.
It is also important to work hand-in-hand with commissioners and county boards and committees, as well as town and city governmental bodies in Albany, Eaton, Desoto, Royerton, Selma, and Muncie. Finally, all elected officials need to work in a bi-partisan way to have common goals if we want to make our county better and stand out from other Indiana counties. |
